Job summary

Triad Orthodontics in Winston-Salem, NC is seeking a full-time Orthodontic Assistant to support the orthodontist chair-side, prepare molds, and manage lab tasks. You will assist with radiographs, sterilize instruments, and help patients feel at ease during treatment.

No prior orthodontic experience is required if you hold a Dental Assistant certification; X-ray certification is a plus. The role offers on-site, Monday–Friday scheduling with competitive benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Certification required: CDA or RDA for the role.
• X-ray certification is a plus to support radiographs.
• On-site full-time position with training provided if no prior experience.

Responsibilities

• Work chair-side with Orthodontist, perform patient care and general laboratory duties.
• Prepare and take patient molds.
• Change out rubber bands, wires and brackets.
• Adjust fit of clear aligners such as Invisalign.
• Take and process dental radiographs (x-rays).
• Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment.
• Teach patients proper oral hygiene guidance (brushing, flossing, nutrition).
• Help patients feel comfortable before, during, and after dental treatment.
• Provide post-treatment oral care instructions to patients.

Summary Of Essential Job Functions

• Work chair-side with Orthodontist, perform patient care, and general laboratory duties
• Preparing and taking patient molds
• Changing out rubber bands, wires, and brackets
• Adjusting fit of clear aligners such as Invisalign
• Take and process dental radiographs (x-rays)
• Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment
• Teach patients appropriate oral hygiene strategies to maintain oral health (e.g., tooth brushing, flossing, and nutritional counseling)
• Help patients feel comfortable before, during, and after dental treatment
• Provide patients with instructions for oral care following surgery or other dental treatment procedures

Compensation And Schedule

• Salary: Starting at $17.00 depending on certifications. Additional increases for experience
• Bonus Pay: up to $300 additional per month
• Schedule: On-site. Monday - Friday
