Job summary

Kids Dental Brands seeks a Part-time Orthodontic Assistant for our Danville office. You will work chair-side with the orthodontist, perform patient care, take records, and assist with lab duties in a kid-friendly environment.

No prior experience is required, but a Dental Assistant certification is necessary. X-ray certification is a plus and on-site scheduling is Monday and Tuesday.

Qualifications

• CDA or RDA certification required.
• X-ray certification is a plus.
• No prior experience required but must have Dental Assistant certification.

Responsibilities

• Chair-side assistance with orthodontist and basic lab duties.
• Prepare and take patient molds.
• Change rubber bands, wires and brackets as directed.
• Assist with fitting clear aligners (e.g., Invisalign).
• Take and process dental radiographs (x-rays).
• Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment.
• Instruct patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.

Summary of Essential Job Functions

• Work chair-side with Orthodontist, perform patient care, and general laboratory duties
• Preparing and taking patient molds
• Changing out rubber bands, wires, and brackets
• Adjusting fit of clear aligners such as Invisalign
• Takeand processdental radiographs (x-rays)
• Prepareand sterilizeinstruments and equipment
• Teachpatients appropriate oral hygiene strategies to maintain oral health (e.g., tooth brushing, flossing, and nutritional counseling)
• Helppatients feel comfortable before, during, and after dental treatment
• Provide patients with instructions for oral care following surgery or other dental treatment procedures
