Job summary

Advanced Dental Care of Shady Road in Ocala, FL is seeking an Orthodontic Assistant to support the clinical team in a busy office. You will prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and assist dentists during procedures while delivering excellent patient care and education.

Ideal candidates have dental assisting experience, X-ray certification, and a commitment to infection control. The role offers a collaborative, modern practice with opportunities for continuing education and career

Qualifications

• Completion of a one-year certified dental assistant program or at least six months on-the-job experience with supporting documentation.
• X-ray certification is required; nitrous oxide certification highly recommended.
• Maintain OSHA, HIPAA, CPR and infection control training as required by law.

Responsibilities

• Clinical Support: Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and assist dentists during procedures.
• Patient Care: Welcome, comfort, and educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
• Radiography & Diagnostics: Take and develop X-rays, assist with impressions, and maintain study models.
• Compliance & Safety: Ensure infection control protocols, maintain patient confidentiality, and follow workplace regulations.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation, including scheduling and patient intake.
