Job summary

Main Street Children's Dentistry and Orthodontics of Orange City is seeking an Orthodontic Assistant to join our clinical team in Orange City, FL. You will support dentists during procedures, prepare treatment rooms, and help educate patients on oral care while upholding the highest standards of infection control.

The ideal candidate has a 1-year certified dental assistant program, X-ray certification, and at least 6 months of experience.

Qualifications

• Completion of a one-year certified dental assistant program.
• Six months on-the-job-experience (with supporting documentation).
• X-Ray certification.
• Nitrous Oxide certification is highly recommended.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Clinical Support: Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and assist dentists during procedures.
• Patient Care: Welcome, comfort, and educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
• Radiography & Diagnostics: Take and develop X-rays, assist with impressions, and maintain study models.
• Compliance & Safety: Ensure infection control protocols, maintain patient confidentiality, and follow workplace regulations.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation, including scheduling and patient intake (if needed).
• Helps dentist manage dental and medical emergencies by maintaining CPR certification, emergency drug and oxygen supply, and emergency telephone directory.
