Job summary

Kids Dental Brands is seeking an Orthodontic Assistant for our Wilmington, NC office. This full-time role involves chair-side support, mold taking, radiographs, and ensuring patient comfort throughout treatment.

You will assist the orthodontist, prepare materials, and help educate families on oral hygiene, with a supportive team dedicated to growth and community health.

Qualifications

• Must have Dental Assistant certification.
• X-ray certification is a plus.
• Ability to work in a pediatric, kid-friendly environment.

Responsibilities

• Chair-side assistance with the orthodontist and lab duties.
• Prepare and take patient molds.
• Change rubber bands, wires, and brackets; adjust aligners.
• Take and process dental radiographs.
• Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment.
• Teach patients oral hygiene strategies and post-treatment care.
• Help patients feel comfortable before, during, and after treatment.
• Provide patients with post-treatment care instructions.

Summary Of Essential Job Functions

• Work chair-side with Orthodontist, perform patient care, and general laboratory duties
• Preparing and taking patient molds
• Changing out rubber bands, wires, and brackets
• Adjusting fit of clear aligners such as Invisalign
• Take and process dental radiographs (x-rays)
• Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipmentTeach patients appropriate oral hygiene strategies to maintain oral health (e.g., tooth brushing, flossing, and nutritional counseling)
• Help patients feel comfortable before, during, and after dental treatment
• Provide patients with instructions for oral care following surgery or other dental treatment procedures

At a Glance

• Certifications Required: CDA or RDA.

• Experience: No previous experience required but must have Dental Assistant certification
• Job Type: Full-time

Compensation And Schedule

• Salary: Starting at $19.00 depending on certifications. Additional increases for experience
• Bonus Pay: up to $300 additional per month
• Schedule: On-site. Monday - Friday
