Prior Orthodontic Experience Is Required.
The starting salary ranges from $21 to $25 per hour depending on experience, with potential salary growth for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
- Supervision and Training: Mentoring, training, and overseeing the performance of other orthodontic assistants, fostering a positive and supportive team environment.
- Clinical Assistance: Assisting orthodontists during procedures, ensuring proper preparation and use of equipment, and facilitating smooth patient care.
- Patient Care: Educating patients and their families on treatment plans, home care instructions, and post-treatment follow-up, while addressing concerns and questions.
- Record Management: Maintaining accurate and confidential patient records, treatment plans, and related documentation.
- Sterilization and Safety: Implementing and upholding strict sterilization and infection control protocols to maintain a safe environment.
- Inventory Management: Monitoring supplies, assisting with ordering, and ensuring availability of orthodontic materials.
- Communication and Collaboration: Acting as a key communicator between the orthodontist, staff, and patients, providing clear instructions and addressing concerns.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience: Proven orthodontic assisting experience, preferably with a background in dental assisting.
- Leadership and Interpersonal Skills: Strong leadership qualities, excellent communication, and effective teamwork abilities.
- Clinical Skills: Knowledge of orthodontic procedures, equipment, sterilization protocols, and ability to take diagnostic records, photos, iTero scans, and impressions.
- Organization and Attention to Detail: Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Education: Completion of a dental assisting program or equivalent experience.
Job Details:
- Type: Full-time / Part-time
- Schedule: 8-hour shifts, Monday to Saturday, weekend availability
- Experience: 1 year dental assisting (preferred), 1 year orthodontic assisting (required)
- Pay: $21.00 - $25.00 per hour
- Hours: 25–40 per week
