Job summary

Duke University Health System in Durham, NC is seeking an Experienced Registered Nurse or NEW GRAD to join the 16-bed Musculoskeletal Trauma Step-down Unit within the new Duke Central Tower.

You will provide and supervise nursing care, guided by the DUHS practice model, and support patients and families in a high-acuity setting.

This full-time position offers day or night 12-hour shifts, weekend rotations, and opportunities for professional growth, with strong teamwork and compassionate care.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of clinical nursing experience required for CNII.
• Graduation from an accredited BSN or higher, or an ADN / Diploma program.
• If without a BSN, enroll in BSN within two years and complete in seven years.

Responsibilities

• Provide and supervise total nursing care for patients.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care per the nursing process.
• Participate in professional practice, education, committees, and research as assigned.
