MercyOne Des Moines Medical Center is seeking a Patient Care Tech to support clinical staff and provide direct patient care during 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM–7:30 AM) with rotating weekends and holidays.

The role includes assisting with daily activities, measuring vital signs, preparing patients and rooms for procedures, and ensuring patient safety. Minimum age 16, BLS, and Mandatory Reporter training are required.

Qualifications

• Must be 16 years of age.
• BLS certification within six weeks of hire.
• Mandatory Reporter training within three months of hire.

Responsabilités

• Delivers patient care and treatment as delegated by an RN or LPN.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living and mobility.
• Responds to patient calls and ensures safety and comfort.
• Records intake/output and measures vital signs; collects specimens.
• Sets up equipment, rooms, and supplies for procedures; assists with discharges.
• Observes changes in patient condition and reports to nurse.
