Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Certified Surgical Tech to support operating room teams in executing safe, efficient surgical procedures. The role requires graduation from an accredited Surgical Technologist program and CST certification within 12 months of hire, plus CPR/BLS.

You will prepare the sterile field, assist with patient positioning, and help manage instruments throughout procedures. Physical demands include lifting up to 50 pounds and handling regular heavy equipment.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program.
• Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) within twelve months of hire.
• CPR – Basic Life Support.
• Physical demands include lift/carry up to 50 pounds and push/pull up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Prepares surgical operating suite with drapes, medications, solutions, instruments, equipment, implants, and supplies.
• Assists with preparing, transporting, positioning and draping patients.
• Passes instruments to physician during surgery and accounts for instruments during procedure.
• Receives and processes specimens for laboratory delivery when required.
