Job summary

Ascension St. Vincent's Southside Hospital in Jacksonville, FL, seeks an experienced surgical support professional to assist the Orthopedic Surgery team on day shift (PRN). You will help prepare sterile and non-sterile instruments, deliver supplies, and support safe, efficient procedures.

In this role, you’ll focus on patient safety, instrument counts, and intraoperative assistance, contributing to smooth workflows and positive outcomes for orthopedic patients.

Qualifications

• BLS certification within 1 month of hire date.
• High school diploma or equivalent required, with relevant experience.
• 1 year of orthopedic surgery experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Drive surgical efficiency by ensuring safe, fluid workflows across diverse procedures.
• Set the standard for sterile and non-sterile suite preparation and supply management.
• Anticipate surgeon needs by delivering instruments and supplies with speed and accuracy.
• Prioritize patient safety by managing the sterile field and conducting precise instrument counts.
• Provide essential clinical support during patient transport, draping, and intraoperative hemostasis.
