Job summary

Virtua Health in South Jersey seeks a Surgical Technologist to support the operating room team under the supervision of the Registered Nurse and/or physician. You will handle instruments, supplies and equipment to maintain the sterile field and ensure patient safety during procedures.

The role requires one year of OR training or experience, graduation from an accredited Surgical Technology program, and BLS.

Qualifications

• One year OR training or experience.
• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology Training Program.
• BLS certification required.
• Surgical Technologist Certification preferred.
• New Jersey CE requirements: 15 CEs per year.

Responsibilities

• Scrubs for, prepares, sets-up and assists during surgical procedures.
• Transports and transfers patients between units as needed.
• Prepares instruments and supplies for future procedures.
• Collects and handles specimens according to policy.
