Job summary

Carle Health is actively seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for the NT4 unit, a 41-bed setting with advanced hip and knee replacement experience. External applicants qualify for a $10,000 sign-on bonus with a 3-year commitment.

You will perform comprehensive nursing care, conduct initial assessments, develop and implement care plans, and collaborate with physicians to coordinate ortho and medical/surgical patient care. Strong documentation and patient education are essential.

Qualifications

• BLS within 30 days - American Heart Association.
• Licensed RN (IDFPR) in good standing.
• Nursing Diploma or Associate’s Degree required.

Responsibilities

• Performs all responsibilities and duties required by unit as specific to the scope of service.
• Implements procedures and theories related to the specific area of practice.
• Maintains up-to-date documentation of nursing care for the healthcare team.
• Completes initial assessment and develops care plans per unit standards.
• Implements plan of care and nursing interventions.
• Modifies plan of care to ensure patient and employee safety.
• Communicates with team to resolve issues.
• Provides feedback for professional development of peers.
• Completes annual education as required by program.
• Assesses ortho and medical/surgical patients each shift.
• Educates patients on wound care, mobility, self-care, and discharge needs.
• Coordinates with physicians and surgeons on patient care.
• Delegates and monitors interventions of staff.
• Sets up traction and manages wound devices.
