Job summary

UPMC Carlisle is seeking a Professional Staff Nurse for the 3rd Floor Orthopedics Surgery unit. This full-time position is a night shift (7pm–7am) on a 36-hour week schedule with a shift differential. The unit handles post-operative orthopedic and bariatric cases with a fast-paced turnover and no on-call requirements.

Starting pay rate varies by experience. UPMC offers a generous sign-on bonus up to $20,000, a 2026-2027 loan repayment program, PTO plus holidays, career ladders, and tuition

Qualifications

• Licensed RN or graduate nurse actively pursuing RN status.
• Night shift RN in Orthopedics/Med-Surgical unit on 3rd Floor Ortho Surgery.

Responsibilities

• Develops and maintains productive working relationships with peers and management.
• Provides teaching to patients and families about the episode of care and transition home.
• Applies the nursing process to create a healing environment and plan of care.
• Participates in unit-based quality improvement and evidence-based practice.
• Supports change and transition processes to improve care and practice.
