Job summary

Boulder Centre for Orthopedics is seeking an Observation Extended Care Unit RN to provide postoperative care in a fast-paced orthopedic setting. This PRN onsite role supports patients through recovery, with shifts including nights and a 12-hour schedule, and a $50 hourly wage plus a $7 night differential.

The position emphasizes collaboration with surgeons and therapists, and ongoing education to advance professional growth.

Qualifications

• Nursing degree (Bachelor's preferred).
• Current Colorado RN license.
• BCLS & ACLS certification.
• 2 years experience as an RN in a professional medical setting; orthopedic care experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert postoperative care and monitor patient recovery.
• Collaborate with surgeons, physical therapists, and the care team on individualized plans.
• Manage pain and symptoms, administer medications, and use non-medication interventions.
• Perform wound care and educate patients and families on recovery at home.
• Document care accurately and uphold infection control and safety standards.
• Offer emotional support to help patients feel confident and cared for.
