Job summary

CGH Medical Center in Sterling, VA is seeking a Full-time Medical Assistant to support physicians and nurses in our clinic. You will perform basic patient care, assist with visits, schedule referrals, and help with front-desk tasks to keep the office running smoothly.

The role requires MA certification (CMA/RMA/NCMA) and BLS within 30 days of hire, with prior MA experience preferred. Strong computer skills and the ability to care for patients across age groups are essential.

Qualifications

• Current MA certification from CMA, RMA or NCMA is required.
• BLS within 30 days of hire and maintained throughout employment.
• Prior experience as a medical assistant preferred.
• Basic computer knowledge and familiarity with charting systems.
• Ability to provide age-appropriate care across pediatric, adult and geriatric patients.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic medical care under the direction of the physician or nurse.
• Assist in preparing patients for visits and document care as required.
• Share observations with the physician regarding patient progress.
• Instruct patients and families on medications and treatment directions.
• Chart notes and sign off with the provider; schedule appointments and referrals.
• Handle receptionist duties and other tasks as assigned.
