Job summary

Barnes-Jewish West County Hospital, part of BJC HealthCare, is seeking a direct patient care provider to support licensed nurses on the Med/Surg 2 Orthopedics unit. The role covers 36 hours per week with night shifts (7p–7:30a), rotating holidays and weekends. CNA or nursing fundamentals knowledge is preferred.

Responsibilities include ADL assistance, vital signs, data collection, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to ensure patient safety and quality care.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Preferred CNA/PCT/EMT/NA or nursing fundamentals course.
• Experience in healthcare settings a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care under supervision of licensed nurses.
• Assists with ADLs, takes vital signs, intake/output, fall and pressure ulcer prevention.
• Performs urine catheter care, phlebotomy, or point-of-care testing as requested.
• Collects patient data and reports changes to the nurse.
• Maintains supplies and equipment for patient needs.
