Job summary
Fairview Health Services is seeking a Nursing Assistant for the Orthopedic Specialty Unit at M Health Fairview Southdale Hospital in Edina, MN. The role features 48 hours every two weeks, with 8-hour day/evening shifts and every other weekend. Shifts run 7:00 am to 3:30 pm or 3:00 pm to 11:30 pm.

Qualifications
- BLS certification required for hire.
- Completion of Fairview’s OnTrack Nursing Assistant program or a similar Fairview-sponsored program.
- Six months of direct care experience in long-term, home care or acute care settings (e.g., Nursing Assistant, PCA, Resident Assistant, ER Tech).
- Current enrollment in an LPN/RN/Nurse Practitioner program with at least one semester of clinical rotation.
- Current MN Nursing Assistant Registry certification on hire (not required to be maintained if transferring to another Nursing position).
Responsibilities
- Provide basic patient care (grooming, bathing, toileting, feeding, skin care, oral hygiene).
- Monitor patient condition; take and record vital signs and related data.
- Assist with admissions, transfers and discharge; orient patients and families.
- Transport patients, equipment and supplies; ensure timely arrival for appointments.
