Job summary

Fairview Health Services in Edina, MN is seeking a Nursing Assistant for the M Health Fairview Southdale Hospital. The role supports nursing care on a 60-hour biweekly schedule, with 12-hour night shifts and every third weekend, offering medical, dental, and other benefits.

The Nursing Assistant will assist with patient care, admissions, transports, and daily unit operations, under RN supervision, in a 26-bed orthopedic spine/adult medical-surgical setting.

Qualifications

• Six months of recent direct care experience in a long term, home care or acute care setting.
• BLS for Healthcare Providers certification (or ability to obtain upon completion of OnTrack).
• OnTrack Nursing Assistant training or equivalent Fairview-sponsored program.

Responsibilities

• Assist the professional nurse in delivering patient care and transport patients/equipment.
• Set up and maintain patient rooms; restock supplies and order as needed.
• Monitor patient condition and document vital signs per protocol.
• Assist with admissions, transfers and discharge; orient patients and families.
• Transport patients and equipment; ensure timely arrivals to appointments.
