Job summary

Fairview Health Services seeks a Nursing Assistant on the Ortho Specialty Unit at M Health Fairview Southdale Hospital in Edina, MN. This role covers 12-hour night shifts (7pm–7:30am) for 60 hours every two weeks, including every third weekend.

You will support the licensed nurses with basic patient care and unit tasks in a fast-paced orthopedic setting. The Orthopedic Surgical unit focuses on total joint replacement and post-operative recovery, offering exposure to diverse patient needs and

Qualifications

• Basic Life Support certification required or achievable during OnTrack program.
• Experience assisting licensed nurses in patient care.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and follow unit procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assist licensed nurse to deliver patient care and transport equipment.
• Monitor patient condition, record weights and vitals, and report changes.
• Assist with admissions, transfers and Discharges; orient patients to unit.
• Transport patients, equipment, specimen and supplies with safe transfer techniques.
