Job summary

Northwestern Medicine in Illinois is seeking a Medical Assistant to support physicians and nursing staff across Crystal Lake and Huntley clinics. The role requires travel between sites with a schedule of 40 hours per week, typically 3 ten-hour days and 2 five-hour days, Monday through Friday.

The MA will aid in patient flow, perform routine clinical tasks, assist with procedures, maintain clean treatment areas, and support the care team to ensure high-quality patient experiences.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Must obtain CMA/RMA/NCMA/CCMA/NRCMA within six months of employment.
• Active BLS/CPR certification required.
• 0–2 years of relevant experience preferred.
• Strong computer skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assists with patient flow: escorts to exam room, takes vitals, documents visit reason and allergies, and prepares for examination.
• Assists practitioners with ECG, venipuncture, immunizations, and CLIA-waived testing as directed.
• Maintains clean and stocked exam rooms, monitors equipment, and disposes of expired items.
• Communicates effectively with patients and care team, participates in staff meetings, and supports clinic operations.
