Job summary

HonorHealth Deer Valley Orthopedics in Glendale, AZ is seeking a Medical Assistant to provide front and back office support. You will escort patients, maintain exam rooms, and assist clinicians with examinations and procedures.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED and completion of an MA training program, with BLS and Fingerprint Clearance Card. A CMA credential is preferred. This position offers a sign-on bonus and opportunities within a large nonprofit health system.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED Required.
• Completion of a MA training program Required.
• 6 months experience as a Medical Assistant Preferred.
• BLS Certification Required.
• Have a current Fingerprint Clearance Card or eligibility within 7 days of employment.
• Certification CMA/CCMA/RMA preferred; HonorHealth reimburses exam costs.

Responsibilities

• Prepares treatment rooms for examination.
• Escorts patient to exam room and records vital signs.
• Assists physician/clinician during exams and procedures.
• May perform injections and TB testing under supervision.
• Performs venipuncture and basic CLIA waived labs.
• Handles front office duties: reception, scheduling, chart maintenance.
• Coordinates insurance authorizations for therapies and referrals.
• Provides referrals to case management for employees.
