Job summary

Presbyterian Espanola Hospital in Espanola, NM is hiring a Medical Assistant to provide direct patient care to an assigned group of patients in an outpatient clinic. You will prepare patients for visits, support efficient patient flow and assist the provider with treatments and procedures.

Responsibilities include preparing and administering medications/immunizations, suture changes, collecting specimens and patient education, with opportunities for ongoing training and certification.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Six months of MA experience or completion of a Medical Assistant/Nursing Assistant program.
• Successful completion of Presbyterian MA Advanced Skills Training within 90 days of hire.
• BLS required.
• Maintains current certifications in required emergency response training (e.g., BLS).
• RO T Registered Orthopedic Technologist required within 12 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patient for rooming and exam.
• Prepare and administer medications and immunizations.
• Perform suture/staple removal and dressing changes.
• Collect and prepare laboratory specimens.
• Provide basic education to patients.
• Set up aseptic and sterile procedures.
• Perform other duties as required.
