Job summary

Resurgens Orthopaedics is hiring a medical assistant to support licensed providers and coordinate patient care across orthopedic services. You will prepare patients for examinations, assist with imaging orders, injections, and post‑op care, and document histories in the EMR.

The role requires strong communication and HIPAA compliance, with duties including scheduling, room preparation, and maintaining sterile environments in a multi-site practice.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent, CPR/BLS
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant Program or Certified Orthopedic Tech preferred
• Two years orthopedic experience preferred
• Three years medical office experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for visit by directing/accompanying patients to the examination or X-ray room and assisting with positioning
• Interview patients and record medical histories; may order x-rays per provider order
• Assist health care providers during examinations and prepare/label medications as directed
• Generate orders for prescriptions, imaging, DME, etc., and input into EMR
• Schedule follow-up appointments, tests, procedures, and injections
• Coordinate all aspects of surgery scheduling including precertifications and preoperative/postoperative appointments
• Maintain patient records in EMR and triage patient inquiries
• Maintain and sterilize medical instruments and exam rooms
• Other duties as assigned by Providers, RNs, and managers
• Travel between multiple site locations (if applicable)
