Job summary

TriStar Greenview Regional Hospital in Bowling Green, KY, is seeking an Ortho Med Surg Registered Nurse. The RN provides direct patient care within the scope of practice and uses therapeutic communication to support safe, effective treatment.

Responsibilities include nursing assessments, care planning, triage, administering treatments and coordinating care with physicians, staff and ancillary services. Licensing requirements include KY RN licensure and BLS within 90 days.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing.
• Licensure: Current KY RN or Compact State License in state of residence.
• BLS obtained within90 days of employment.

• Perform nursing assessments, diagnosis, care plan, and implementation of treatment for all assigned patients.
• Perform initial triage evaluation and assign acuity level to patients.
• Administer treatments, medications, and procedures within scope of practice.
• Coordinate care with management staff, team leader, physicians, department staff and ancillary services.
• Delegate duties to technical support staff while maintaining accountability of delegation.

Job Summary and Qualifications

The Registered Nurse performs direct patient care within the scope of the Registered Nurse Practice Act.

Utilizes therapeutic communication in daily practice.Maintains a safe therapeutic environment.Identifiesnursing problems as they relate to the individual needs of the patient. Registered Nurse plans individualized patient care whileutilizingan interdisciplinary approach.Participates in performance improvement activities.Provides care and coordinates participation that fosters the goals of the hospital’s mission and vision statement.

When acting inchargenurserole, registered nursesare responsible forday-to-day activities to ensure the delivery of quality patient care in a therapeutic environment.Make staff assignments based on patient need,acuityand the skill of the staff. Serve as role models and clinicalresourcefor the staff.Respondin a timely mannertorequests forinformation or follow-up with physician,staffor patient issues.
