TriStar Greenview Regional Hospital in Kentucky is seeking a Med Surg RN PRN to provide direct patient care. The role emphasizes therapeutic communication, interdisciplinary collaboration, and individualized patient plans in a busy hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with an approved nursing program and; current Kentucky Board of Nursing licensure.
• Current BLS certification.
• Minimum one year of registered nurse experience; acute care RN experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess and plan patient care; carry out physician orders.
• Administer prescribed medications, change dressings, monitor wounds; track vital signs.
• Monitor and document patient condition using computerized systems; communicate changes to the team.
• Educate patients and families as part of a multidisciplinary care plan.

Job Summary And Qualifications

The Registered Nurse performs direct patient care within the scope of the Registered Nurse Practice Act. Utilizes therapeutic communication in daily practice. Maintains a safe therapeutic environment. Identifies nursing problems as they relate to the individual needs of the patient. Registered Nurse plans individualized patient care while utilizing an interdisciplinary approach. Participates in performance improvement activities. Provides care and coordinates participation that fosters the goals of the hospital’s mission and vision statement.

What you will do in this role:

• You will assess plans and evaluate the patient’s care needs and will carry out physician orders.
• You will administer prescribed medications, change dressings, clean wounds, and monitor vital signs.
• You will monitor, record and communicate patient condition as appropriate utilizing computerized documentation systems.
• You will instruct and educate patients and families as part of a multidisciplinary care planning team.
• You will identify nursing problems as they relate to the individual needs of the patient and plan individualized patient care utilizing an interdisciplinary approach.

What qualifications you will need:

• Registered Nurse from accredited school of nursing
• Current licensure with KY Board of Nursing
• Current BLS
• One year of registered nurse experience required
• Acute Care RN experience preferred
