Job summary

Western Dental in San Diego is seeking an Ortho Dental Assistant dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care and supporting the doctor with chair-side procedures and radiographs.

Responsibilities include preparing operatories, taking and mounting radiographs, reviewing patient charts, and ensuring smooth patient flow while maintaining HIPAA compliance. A high school diploma and radiography certification are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Current radiography certification is required.
• Dental Assistant certification, as required by state, or ability to become certified.
• Current CPR certification preferred.
• Current certification to monitor Nitrous Oxide/Oxygen Analgesia preferred.
• Maintain OSHA, HIPAA and Infection Control training.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service with chair-side care.
• Be present and ready for all assigned shifts.
• Assist doctors and hygienists with procedures and anticipate needs.
• Take, develop and mount radiographs.
• Review charts, log health history and transcribe notes.
• Prepare and sterilize equipment and operatory.
• Maintain patient flow and schedule compliance.
• Educate patients and address questions or concerns.
• Demonstrate teamwork to ensure a great patient experience.
• Collaborate with doctors, hygienists and staff to uphold service quality.
• Assist front desk with follow-up scheduling and lab cases tracking.
• Monitor supplies and order using approved formulary.
• Promote and market dental services and products.
• Complete checklists and participate in daily huddles.
