CentraState Medical Center in Freehold, NJ, seeks a Patient Care Technician (PCT) for a per diem role in the Total Joint/Orthopedic Center. The position supports orthopedic and medical patients with a 1:5-1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio, involving direct patient care and data collection.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• One year nursing assistant healthcare experience required, or CNA/PCT training, or nursing program with intro course.
• CPR Certification required.
• Glucose certifications provided by CentraState during orientation.

Responsibilities

• Provides considerate respectful care focused upon the patient's individual need.
• Accurately checks exterior of code cart each shift.
• Collects and labels specimens without error.
• Accurately performs bedside glucose monitoring and data entry.
• Assists with activities of daily living and personal hygiene.
• Responds to patient call lights in a timely manner.
• Floats between units as needed and provides 1:1 observation when required.
