Job summary

CentraState Healthcare System is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Total Joint/Orthopedic Center in Freehold, NJ. The unit provides 21 private beds with 1:5-1:6 nurse-to-patient ratios and access to a rehabilitation gym, focusing on joint replacements and orthopedic care.

Responsibilities include delivering evidence-based nursing care, accurate documentation, medication administration, and active participation in quality initiatives.

Qualifications

• Current NJ RN license required.
• CPR Certification required.
• ACLS certification to be achieved within first year.
• Basic Dysrhythmia course to be achieved within first year.
• CSMC IV Certification to be achieved within first year.
• Stroke Education requirements to be achieved within first year.
• Graduate of CSMC Residency program, or minimum of 1 year acute care RN experience.

Responsibilities

• Provides culturally sensitive nursing care in accordance with ANA standards and NJ regulations.
• Document assessment findings, care plans, interventions and patient progress in the medical record.
• Administer medications following policy and manufacturer instructions.
• Recognize changes in patient condition and take appropriate action.
• Participate in unit conferences and quality improvement initiatives.
• Serve as Resource Nurse and assist without the Clinical Leader or Nurse Manager present.
• Support cost containment through efficient use of equipment and supplies.
• Discharge planning and patient/family education.
• Float between units as needed and provide 1:1 patient observation when required.

Associate's degree in Nursing
