Job summary

Guardian Pharmacy of Orlando, a member of Guardian, is seeking a Billing/Pharmacy Technician to support patient billing and insurance claims from our closed-door facility in Orlando, FL. All patient interactions are conducted over the phone.

The role emphasizes accuracy, HIPAA compliance, and excellent customer service in a fast-paced, team-oriented setting with comprehensive training provided.

Qualifications

• Research and establish patient eligibility coverage with insurance providers
• Accurately enters and updates patient/insurance information into billing system
• Provide timely response to billing inquiries and resolve issues
• Assist with Medicare open enrollment and plan comparisons
• Perform billing and reporting tasks in a compliant manner

Responsibilities

• Research and establish patient eligibility coverage with insurance providers
• Reverify benefit criteria for claims follow-up
• Enter patient information into the billing system accurately
• Audit and maintain patient files for audits and compliance
• Respond to billing inquiries via phone or electronic communication
• Run Medicare plan comparisons during open enrollment
• Process patient payments, credits, and adjustments
• Resolve claim rejections and rebill as needed
• Develop understanding of Medicare/Medicaid/ PDP billing requirements
• Use pharmacy information systems to process prior authorizations and reports
• Rotate through departments to learn workflows
• Follow HIPAA and regulatory requirements
• Collaborate with team to meet service goals
