Job summary

HEI Hotels & Resorts is seeking a Security Leader for the Courtyard Orlando Lake Buena Vista area. You will direct, monitor and assist in all hotel security and safety programs, and perform protective and preventative measures to ensure guest and staff safety.

You will train managers and associates, conduct tours, manage incident reporting, and coordinate with department heads to maintain security standards across the property.

Qualifications

• Safety and security related courses are preferred.
• Previous Law Enforcement, Military, Healthcare, or Hospitality risk management experience.
• Must have basic First Aid training.
• Knowledge of hotel operations, including security programs and budgeting.
• Leadership skills to motivate and develop staff.
• Able to set priorities, plan, organize, and delegate.
• Written and verbal communication skills are essential.
• Ability to work effectively under time constraints and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Implements security SOPs, conducts property rounds and inspections.
• Takes daily hotel tours and promotes safe work practices.
• Understands emergency procedures (Fire, Medical, Weather, Bomb Threat).
• Understands security systems (CCTV, Radio, Key Card, Fire Panel).
• Maintains incident reporting and factual investigations.
• Trains managers and associates on emergency procedures.
• Works with department heads and MODs to ensure hotel security.
• May participate in hotel investigations.
• Assists Chief Engineer with key control procedures.
• Interviews, hires, trains, evaluates, and counsels staff as needed.
• Responds promptly to security issues and hazards.
• Keeps informed about local crime impacting the hotel.
• Handles guests under influence professionally.
• Assists in budgeting for the security department.
• Maintains a confident, helpful attitude and professional demeanor.
• Maintains basic PC skills and MS Office proficiency.
