Job summary

Coda Search Staffing is partnering with a multi-strat asset manager in New York to hire an Originations Associate. The role focuses on sourcing, reviewing, and executing commercial real estate loan opportunities, with a strong emphasis on due diligence and financial modeling using Excel and Argus.

The successful candidate will present analyses to senior management, assist in term sheet negotiations, and help train junior team members.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years of relevant experience in CRE finance, investment, banking, or brokerage.
• Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate Finance, Economics, Business, or a related discipline; advanced degree preferred.
• Credit trained and highly experienced in executing Commercial Real Estate transactions.

Responsibilities

• Source, review, analyze, and execute investment opportunities for potential commercial real estate loans.
• Complete due diligence and prepare comprehensive financial analyses, including evaluation of historical financials, rent rolls, and pro-forma projections, utilizing advanced Excel and Argus models.
• Synthesize and present deal analyses and recommendations to senior management and investment committees.
• Assist in the preparation and negotiation of term sheets and loan documentation for new investment opportunities.
• Review and abstract complex lease agreements, JV agreements, property-level contracts, and third-party reports.
• Develop and maintain relationships with brokers, developers, and operators to generate a consistent pipeline of on and off-market opportunities.
• Mentor and assist in the training of junior members of the originations team.
