Job summary

Habitat Energy seeks an experienced Origination Manager to lead business development for the US market, focusing on ERCOT and expansion into PJM, MISO, CAISO and NYISO. Based in Austin, TX, you will own the full client lifecycle, craft value propositions, and shape the company’s commercial strategy with cross-functional teams.

You will engage prospects, deliver pitches, model scenarios, and negotiate terms while building the Habitat Energy brand across storages and renewables optimization.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in energy market business development, origination, trading, or related fields.
• In-depth knowledge of ERCOT power markets; familiarity with PJM, MISO, CAISO, NYISO is a plus.
• Comfortable discussing highly technical quantitative topics.
• Excellent interpersonal and client-facing communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and written/verbal communication.
• Self-motivated with ability to manage multiple client priorities and solve problems.
• Experience working in non-hierarchical teams toward shared goals.
• A degree in business, economics, finance, CS, engineering or related technical field.

Responsibilities

• Own origination activity across the client lifecycle, from sourcing to closing deals.
• Generate awareness and build Habitat Energy's brand through networking and materials.
• Understand client needs and create value-driven solutions.
• Support refinement of Habitat's commercial strategy and product positioning.
• Contribute to development and commercialization of new offerings with trading, product and analytics teams.
• Develop commercial cases and relationships for expansion into new US markets (PJM, MISO, CAISO, NYISO).
