The City of Phoenix is seeking a Laboratory Technician for the Water Services Department in the Organics Section. You will help monitor water quality, perform analyses on wastewater samples, and ensure QA/QC compliance in a compliant laboratory setting.

The role emphasizes accuracy, attention to detail, and teamwork, with a Monday–Friday schedule and potential overtime during emergencies. A Bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred and relevant experience is valued.

Qualifications

• Three years of standard laboratory tests or instrumental analyses in a public health, crime laboratory, or utility chemical laboratory.
• All finalists for positions are subject to a criminal background check.
• Some positions require the use of personal or City vehicles on City business; valid driver's license required.

Responsabilités

• Monitor water quality for inorganic and organic constituents to optimize plant processes and meet regulatory requirements.
• Perform physical, chemical, microbiological, or process-related analyses of wastewater samples per QA/QC policies.
• Use Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) to retrieve, track, and enter analytical data; track and order supplies.
