Seagate Technology in Longmont, CO invites an Organic Chemistry Scientist/Engineer Intern for Summer 2027 to join the R&D Materials Science Lab. The role focuses on routine organic tasks, data entry, and collaboration within a cross‑functional team.

You will prep samples, maintain safety, document procedures, analyze GC curves, and assist in commissioning a new instrument, with opportunities to present findings. Ideal for students returning Fall 2027 with GC experience.

Qualifikationen

• Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Organic Chemistry, Chemical engineering, materials science, or related field; returning Fall 2027.
• Hands‑on experience in gas chromatography and some instrument maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Experience writing engineering reports and giving presentations.

Aufgaben

• Assist with routine organic laboratory tasks, such as sample preparation, chemical handling, and data entry.
• Maintain a clean and organized lab environment in accordance with safety and quality protocols.
• Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot experiments and improve lab workflows.
• Document experimental procedures and results accurately for internal reporting and knowledge sharing.
• Perform glassware cleanliness validations to ensure lab equipment meets analytical standards.
• Prepare and analyze GC standard curves, including the creation of calibration standards and interpretation of results.
• Support the commissioning of a new analytical instrument (Organic Disc Extractor), including setup, documentation, and preliminary testing.
