Job summary

New England Donor Services is seeking an Organ Surgical Recovery Coordinator to assist surgeons in the OR, recover organs, and coordinate logistics for transplant. You will travel to hospitals across New England to support organ preservation and tissue recovery including corneas and heart valves.

This is a full-time role with 24-hour on-call shifts, including overnights, weekends, and holidays. You will play a vital part in life-saving programs and team collaboration.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or minimum of 2 years professional experience.
• Medical Terminology and clinical experience in a medical/healthcare field is required.
• Aseptic Technique is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist surgeons in the OR during organ recovery.
• Facilitate organ preservation including use of mechanical perfusion devices.
• Independently perform recovery of corneas and heart valves from deceased donors.
• Arrange logistics for organ recovery by coordinating team transportation and communicating with NEDS and hospital staff.
