Job summary

Network for Hope is seeking a Surgical Preservation Coordinator to oversee organ preservation, coordinate OR activities, and manage distribution of organs. The role involves substantial travel within the donation service area and on-call responsibilities to support transplant centers.

The SPC will work with surgeons, ORC, and healthcare professionals to ensure compliant, efficient organ recovery and preservation processes with a focus on donor families and professional conduct.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2-3 years of healthcare experience.
• Certified Transplant Preservationist (CTP) required or must obtain within one year of eligibility.
• Experience in surgical settings or organ recovery is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the point of contact and coordinator for operating room activities during organ recovery procedures.
• Coordinate workflow with recovery surgeons, ORC, and OR staff to ensure protocols are followed.
• Review donor information in the OPTN system and assist with organ recovery for research as needed.
• Oversee preservation processes to maintain organ viability during transportation and handling.
• Package organs and coordinate courier pick-up and distribution for transplantation or research.
• Maintain strict adherence to quality, safety, and regulatory standards and document all donor-related activities.
