Job summary

Advocate Health in Charlotte, NC seeks an Organ/Tissue Recovery Specialist to oversee aseptic tissue recovery, organ preservation, and transport of donated organs. The role requires coordination with surgical teams and compliance with policies.

You will collaborate with medical examiners, nursing staff, and funeral directors, perform donor evaluations, and ensure regulatory packaging and sterility of instruments. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or CTP/CTBS certification required.
• BS in Health Science preferred.
• RN or LPN, EMT, or Surgical Technician certifications considered.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate recovery, preservation and transport of donated organs.
• Perform aseptic recovery of tissue and organs per policy.
• Perform organ preservation and in-situ flush on request.
• Conduct donor evaluations and coordinate logistics with staff.
• Ensure all tissues are packaged per regulations.
• Maintain labs and keep instruments sterile and stocked.
