Job summary

Life Connection Of Ohio in Maumee, OH is seeking an Organ Recovery Coordinator I to evaluate donor referrals and coordinate organ donation activities. You will manage donor medical care, support family services, and contribute to quality improvement projects to maximize donation opportunities.

The role requires strong independence, teamwork, and confidentiality, with night shifts and facility-based work in Toledo/Maumee. BLS, ACLS, and PALS are required; CPTC is optional with an 18‑month window.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in nursing, respiratory therapy, EMT, paramedic medicine or related biological science; a Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
• Organ Recovery Coordinator or hospital ER/ICU experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintains professional conduct and promotes a positive work environment.
• Responds to initial organ donor referrals and follows up on referred patients on shift.
• Completes donor referrals assessments to determine donor suitability per guidelines.
• Understands death declaration and organ donation requirements.
• Identifies legal next-of-kin and assesses family dynamics and needs.
• Clinically manages the donor per protocols and coordinates organ recovery.
• Coordinates transport and logistics of organs, blood, and typing materials.
• Documents donor records, labs, and procedures accurately.
• Supports quality improvement projects within Recovery Department.
