Job summary

Wexner Medical Center in Columbus, OH is seeking an Organ Transplant Coordinator to lead the donor-to-recipient process from organ offer through transplant. This on-call role coordinates with OPTN contractors, host OPO, attending physicians, fellows and OR staff to ensure smooth recipient operations.

The incumbent mobilizes the procurement team, secures transportation, and ensures supplies are ready while supporting policy development and regulatory compliance related to OPTN standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred, preferably in biological sciences or equivalent experience in organ transplantation.
• 3 years of progressive experience in organ transplantation or related field, or 1 year as Organ Recovery Specialist-1 at OSUWMC.
• Certificate: CPTC and CTP are optional and beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and lead the donor operation from organ offer to transplant.
• Provide continuous on-call coverage for the transplant center for organ procurement.
• Communicate with OPTN contractor, host OPO, attending physicians, fellows and OR staff.
• Mobilize procurement team and arrange transportation for the team.
