Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Bomb SME/Ordnance Tech to plan, prepare, and conduct experimental explosive and gun tests in Socorro, NM or Playas, NM. You will follow EMRTC safety SOPs and security policies while supporting test operations.

Responsibilities include setting up tests, transporting equipment, performing pre-test checks, and collaborating with management to address misfires and anomalies. A valid NM CDL with HazMat endorsement is required or in process.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to enter data into Microsoft/Windows applications.
• Must obtain or hold NM CDL with HazMat endorsement (Class C or A).
• Graduate of Naval/EOD or Hazardous Devices School with eight years of EOD/bomb tech and explosive RDT&E experience.

Responsibilities

• Transport explosives and equipment to test sites.
• Perform pre-operational briefs, test setup, and pre-test checks.
• Set up test articles, detonate, and ensure data collection safety.
• Advise on misfires and unusual occurrences during tests; conduct gun tests.
