Horizon LTC Pharmacy in Kalamazoo, MI is seeking a detail-oriented Order Entry Specialist who is a Licensed or Certified Pharmacy Technician to enter prescriptions accurately and process orders timely.

The role collaborates with healthcare providers and facilities, maintains documentation, complies with regulations, and supports patient care with strong data entry and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Must have a Michigan Pharmacy Technician license (active).
• CPhT certification preferred.
• Prior long-term care pharmacy experience preferred.
• Strong data-entry and 10-key skills are essential.
• Proficiency with pharmacy software, Microsoft Office, and Google Suite.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to maintain strict patient confidentiality and multitask in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities

• Accurately input prescription and refill orders into pharmacy software.
• Manage incoming orders and prioritize urgent requests.
• Communicate with providers, clinics, and healthcare staff to clarify prescription details.
• Contact provider offices for refill authorizations.
• Resolve order discrepancies, insurance issues, and billing questions.
• Maintain detailed documentation of orders and communications.
• Ensure compliance with pharmacy regulations and company policies.
• Provide excellent internal and external customer service.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
