Job summary

Pentair is seeking an Order Engineer to join our Kansas City, KS team. You will work with project managers to supply and coordinate technical data per schedule and customer requirements, ensuring orders meet specifications.

The role is on-site, full-time, in Kansas City, KS, with base pay discussion and potential incentive compensation. You will partner with engineering teams to support industrial water solutions and customer success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering-related discipline.
• Ability to read technical schematics and plans (CAD drawings, BOMs).
• Self-motivated with strong problem-solving, analytical, mathematical and mechanical skills.
• Strong communication with internal and external stakeholders.
• Solid organizational skills to manage deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Consult with internal project managers, engineers, and customers to plan requirements and resolve issues.
• Prepare order submittals, manuals, test and quality reports.
• Review SAP orders against specifications and PO.
• Coordinate internal calculations and data packages for third-party calculations.
• Prepare and communicate clarifications on order documents and vendor data.

We have an opportunity for an Order Engineer to join our Kansas City, KS team. This facility designs engineers and manufactures industrial‑sized pumps that sustainably move and treat water for industrial and municipal customers. You will work with internal project managers to supply and coordinate technical data in accordance with the project schedule and customer requirements.

• This is a full‑time, salaried position that will require you to work on‑site, Monday - Friday, in Kansas City, KS.

You Will

• Consult with internal project managers, application engineers, project and product engineers, and customers to plan or clarify project requirements and resolve technical issues.
• Prepare documents for customer purchase orders that meet the order requirements and customer specifications, including order submittals, instruction manuals, test reports, and quality reports.
• Review orders that have been entered into SAP and validate against customer specification and purchase order.
• Complete calculation requirements using templates, coordinate with Product Engineering team for internal custom engineered calculations and prepare data packages for third party calculations.
• Prepare and communicate technical clarifications with respect to the order documents, vendor technical data, and quality requirements.

Key Qualifications

• Have earned a bachelor’s (B.S.) degree in an engineering‑related discipline.
• Ability to read technical schematics and plans, such as CAD drawings and bills of materials, to understand component level operations/function.
• Self‑motivated, advanced problem‑solving, analytical, mathematical, and mechanical skills.
• Proven ability to communicate professionally with individuals both within and outside an organization.
• Solid organizational skills to respond to requests and meet multiple deadlines.

Compensation

For this full‑time position working at this location, the anticipated annualized base pay range will be from $61,200 - $113,600 / year. At Pentair, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the pay range. Pentair considers various factors in determining actual compensation for this position at the expected location. Actual compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, work location, and other relevant business or organizational needs. This position may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as annual incentive bonus.
