Job summary

Pentair is seeking an Application Engineer for our Kansas City, KS team. You will analyze, organize, and configure the application of centrifugal pumps to meet complex customer requirements and craft custom quotations. Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field required.
  • Experience with electro-mechanical systems such as pumps and motors preferred.
  • Ability to read schematics and CAD drawings to understand BOS and BOM.
  • Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Design and configure custom quotations to meet customer specs.
  • Review rotating equipment and pump requirements, calculations, and materials.
  • Provide technical information on product performance and installation needs.
  • Collaborate with sales, engineering, and end-users to drive bids to close.
  • Assist in product training and client presentations.
  • Travel up to 10% for site visits and meetings.

We have an opportunity for an Application Engineer to join our Kansas City, KS team. You will analyze, organize, and configure the application of centrifugal pumps to conform to customer requirements of a complex nature. You Will


  • Design and configure custom quotations to meet customer specifications & requirements.

  • Review & interpret rotating equipment and pump requirements, engineering calculations, materials of construction, special requirements, pricing, replacement & interchangeability, and system design & evaluation.

  • Provide technical information on product performance, auxiliary equipment needed, installation requirements, pricing estimates, instruction manuals, and delivery schedules as it relates to project specification and order processing.

  • Collaborate with sales, engineering, product management, supply, engineering firms, and end-users to ensure projects successfully make it to the bid-phase.

  • Assist in product training to internal personnel and/or field sales and assist in product presentations to customers or distributors.

  • Occasional travel may be required (up to 10%) for customer site visits or business meetings and training courses.


Key Qualifications


  • Have earned a bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) in Engineering, Operations, Business, or related field. Candidates with an associate’s degree (A.S.) and relevant work experience will be considered.

  • Experience with or knowledge of electro-mechanical systems, such as pumps, motors, valves, hydraulic systems, fluid handling systems, or rotating equipment.

  • Ability to read technical schematics and plans, such as CAD drawings and bills of materials, to understand component level operations/function.

  • Self-motivated, advanced problem-solving, analytical, mathematical, and mechanical skills.

  • Proven ability to communicate professionally with individuals both within and outside an organization.


Compensation

For this full-time position working at this location, the anticipated annualized base pay range will be from $71000 - $131800/ year. At Pentair, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the pay range. Pentair considers various factors in determining actual compensation for this position at the expected location. Actual compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, work location, and other relevant business or organizational needs. This position may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as, annual incentive bonus.
