Job summary

SpaceX is seeking an Electrical On-Orbit Hardware Reliability Engineer for Starlink in Redmond, WA. You will analyze and investigate electrical and mechanical failures across the Starlink constellation, performing hardware testing and developing models to prevent recurrence.

You will partner with electrical, mechanical, thermal, software, and production teams to resolve anomalies and improve reliability. The role requires a STEM degree and hands-on hardware experience, plus Python/SQL skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical, computer engineering, physics, or a related STEM field.
• 1+ years of hardware development, troubleshooting, or data analysis experience (internships accepted).
• 1+ years of experience with Python and/or SQL.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and track on-orbit hardware failures for the Starlink satellite constellation.
• Drive root cause investigation for major on-orbit hardware anomalies.
• Perform electrical bench testing and develop engineering models of failures to root cause and mitigate hardware anomalies.
• Work closely with engineers from adjacent disciplines to eliminate sources of on‑orbit failure.
• Drive continual improvements to our constellation by building and using tools to analyze data collected on orbit and in ground testing.
• Continuously improve the feedback loop from space using effective communication and automation.
