Job summary

Risas Dental and Braces is seeking an Oral Surgeon for the Desert Sky location in Phoenix, AZ. This full-scope OMFS role centers on IV sedation, extractions (including impacted teeth), and implants in a busy outpatient setting.

You’ll work 12-16 days per month with flexible scheduling to fit your private practice, hospital cases, or family commitments. The practice offers a supportive team, modern facilities, and a diverse patient base.

Qualifications

• Active Arizona dental license (or eligible and willing to obtain).
• Current DEA registration and Arizona sedation permit (or pursuing).
• Comfortable leading a busy surgical schedule and chairside team.
• Patient-first mindset serving a diverse community.

Responsibilities

• Perform IV sedation and conscious sedation cases.
• Conduct surgical extractions, including impacted third molars.
• Place implants and manage complex extraction procedures.
• Perform alveoloplasty and pre-prosthetic procedures.
• Handle pathology and biopsies in outpatient OMFS setting.

What You'll Be Doing

This is a full-scope oral surgery role. The bulk of the work centers on:

• IV sedation and conscious sedation cases
• Surgical extractions, including impacted third molars
• Implants
• Complex extractions, alveoloplasty, and pre-prosthetic surgery
• Pathology, biopsies, and the broader scope of OMFS within an outpatient setting

You bring the hands. We bring the patients, the staff, the instruments, the assistants, and the back-office.

Who We're Looking For

• DDS or DMD - we welcome both oral surgeons (completed OMFS residency) and surgically trained general dentists (GPR/AEGD residency or documented chairside surgical volume: extractions, surgical extractions, bone grafting, and implant placement)
• Active Arizona dental license (or eligible and willing to obtain)
• Current DEA registration and Arizona sedation permit (or actively pursuing)
• Comfortable running a busy surgical schedule and leading a chairside team
• Patient-first mindset - Risas serves a diverse, underserved community, and bedside manner matters here

Oral surgeons and general dentists with strong surgical experience are both encouraged to apply.
