Job summary

Risas Dental and Braces is seeking an Oral Surgeon to join the Desert Sky location in West Phoenix. This role focuses on IV and conscious sedation, extractions, implants, and advanced OMFS in an outpatient setting.

You’ll operate with a full surgical team while a steady patient flow supports your schedule. You bring DDS/DMD with an OMFS residency (or equivalent surgical training), an active AZ license, and DEA registration.

Qualifications

• DDS or DMD with completed OMFS residency or equivalent surgical training.
• Active Arizona dental license (or eligible) and DEA registration.
• Arizona sedation permit (or in process).
• Ability to manage a busy surgical schedule and lead a chairside team.
• Commitment to patient-centered care in a diverse community.

Responsibilities

• Perform IV and conscious sedation cases.
• Conduct surgical extractions, including impacted third molars.
• Place implants and perform complex extractions.
• Perform alveoloplasty and pre-prosthetic surgery.
• Handle pathology and biopsies in outpatient setting.
• Collaborate with staff to support patient flow.

What You'll Be Doing

This is a full-scope oral surgery role. The bulk of the work centers on:

• IV sedation and conscious sedation cases
• Surgical extractions, including impacted third molars
• Implants
• Complex extractions, alveoloplasty, and pre-prosthetic surgery
• Pathology, biopsies, and the broader scope of OMFS within an outpatient setting

You bring the hands. We bring the patients, the staff, the instruments, the assistants, and the back-office.

Who We're Looking For

• DDS or DMD - we welcome both oral surgeons (completed OMFS residency) and surgically trained general dentists (GPR/AEGD residency or documented chairside surgical volume: extractions, surgical extractions, bone grafting, and implant placement)
• Active Arizona dental license (or eligible and willing to obtain)
• Current DEA registration and Arizona sedation permit (or actively pursuing)
• Comfortable running a busy surgical schedule and leading a chairside team
• Patient-first mindset - Risas serves a diverse, underserved community, and bedside manner matters here

Oral surgeons and general dentists with strong surgical experience are both encouraged to apply.
