Job summary

Texas A&M University Health Science Center in Dallas seeks an Oral Pathology Services Coordinator to support timely diagnosis of biopsy specimens for the Oral Pathology Service. You will liaise with OPS, medical/dental facilities, and billing partners while ensuring accurate data entry and HIPAA compliance.

The role focuses on laboratory workflow, revenue cycle support, and customer service, coordinating with pathologists, laboratory personnel, and clinicians to optimize operations and revenue

Qualifications

• Two years of experience in a healthcare, dental, medical, laboratory, academic healthcare, or related administrative environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Sciences, Public Health, Healthcare Administration, Health Sciences, Business Administration, or related field; or equivalent experience.
• Experience with Epic, LIS, EHR, billing systems, or healthcare workflow improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily laboratory workflow to ensure accurate specimen processing and timely turnaround.
• Oversee specimen receipt, logging, accessioning, gross examination preparation, and data entry in LIS/database.
• Coordinate report, slide, tissue block, and consult material requests, including return of submitted materials within required timelines.
• Maintain laboratory records, documentation, and archives in compliance with HIPAA, CLIA, and accreditation requirements.
