The Oracle Payroll Specialist leads the end-to-end administration, validation, and functional optimization of the Oracle Fusion / Cloud Payroll modules. This role requires a balance of routine operational oversight—such as executing gross-to-net calculations and handling multi-state tax setups with highly technical system management, including the execution of quarterly Oracle update testing, Fast Formula adjustments, and data flows.
Responsibilities
1. Core Payroll Processing & Execution
- Run end-to-end processing: Manage bi-weekly, semi-monthly, and off-cycle payroll flows within Oracle Cloud.
- Reconciliation and audits: Formulate audit templates to validate gross-to-net calculations, ensuring time-card integration data balances completely prior to finalizing payments.
- Special calculations: Perform intricate "Gross-Up" computations for executive bonuses, stock administrations, and wage adjustments.
2. Technical System Maintenance & Configuration
- Manage Fast Formulas: Maintain, write, and troubleshoot Oracle Fast Formulas used to dictate automated earnings, deductions, and benefits rules.
- System integration and data loading: Oversee data migration tools such as HCM Extracts and HCM Spreadsheet Data Loader (HDL) to ingest batches of global workforce data.
- Oracle lifecycle updates: Lead the testing matrices for Oracle Fusion quarterly patches, executing unit tests to verify updates do not compromise core setup profiles or costing structures.
3. Compliance & Reporting
- Tax setups: Configure and manage multi-state, localized legislative data groups (LDGs) to guarantee precise federal, state, and local tax compliance.
- Garnishments & third-party payments: Control inbound and outbound data integrations regarding court-ordered withholdings, levies, and automated clearing house (ACH) reversals.
- Costing & General Ledger (GL): Design payroll costing rules to ensure the subledger accounting (SLA) flows flawlessly into corporate financial structures.
Qualifications
- Oracle HCM Cloud Expertise: Deep functional knowledge of Oracle Payroll Cloud, with preferred working knowledge of adjacent modules like Time & Labor and Absence Management.
- Advanced Data Proficiency: Strong capabilities in Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP) and fundamental understanding of database structures for troubleshooting data warehouse setups.
- Support Ticket Systems: Familiarity handling advanced functional requests logged via the Oracle Help Desk or related enterprise ticketing platforms.
Experience & Education
- Experience: Minimum of 3–5+ years operating inside an Oracle Cloud environment, with preference given to professionals who have survived full-cycle system implementations.
- Education: A Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Accounting, Computer Science, or equivalent fields.
- Certifications: Becoming an Oracle Payroll Cloud Implementation Professional or holding a general payroll accreditation (e.g., CPP - Certified Payroll Professional) is highly desired.
