Oracle OCI Cloud Engineer

Job Responsibilities

• Design and manage Oracle OCI environments, including database, middleware, and infrastructure components
• Develop and maintain Oracle APEX applications and ORDS services
• Configure and administer Oracle WebLogic Server and related technologies
• Plan and execute database upgrades, migrations, and conversions
• Implement and manage backup, recovery, and replication strategies using RMAN and other tools
• Ensure high availability, disaster recovery, and data protection
• Monitor and optimize database performance, implementing tuning recommendations
• Implement and automate routine tasks using shell scripting and tools like Ansible
• Collaborate with development and DevOps teams to ensure seamless application deployment
• Proactively identify and resolve potential issues, providing timely support
• Document and train on best practices for Oracle OCI environment management

Required Skills and Experience

• 10+ years of experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI)
• Strong expertise in Oracle Application Express (APEX 18+), Oracle REST Data Services (ORDS 22+), Oracle WebLogic Server 14, and Oracle Database (19c/26ai)
• Experience with CDB/PDB, database upgrades (19c → 26ai), PDB cloning, RMAN, and Oracle Data Guard
• Proficiency in Linux/Unix, shell scripting, GitLab, Ansible, Python, and JavaScript
• Hands‑on with Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM 24ai), WebLogic administration, DB patching, and OCI DBaaS
• Strong knowledge of cloud architecture, HA/DR, database security, and performance tuning
• Familiar with Docker and Kubernetes
• Excellent problem‑solving, communication skills, and ability to provide 24/7 support

Desirable Skills

• Certification in Oracle technologies such as OCIP, OCP, or OCE
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or GitLab CI
• Understanding of microservices architecture and API integration
