Job summary

Akaasa Technologies is seeking an Oracle OCI Cloud Engineer for a contract role. The position is hybrid with 3 days on-site and 2 days remote, and requires availability for evenings and weekends on-demand. One to two rounds of technical interviews followed by a work sample at VDH HQ (about 2 hours).

The candidate will provide after-hours support for patches and maintenance, and must have extensive OCI, APEX, ORDS, WebLogic, and Oracle DB experience.

Qualifications

• 10+ years hands-on experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and related technologies.
• Oracle Application Express 18 and higher (APEX).
• Oracle Rest Data Services 22 and higher (ORDS).
• Oracle WebLogic Server 14 (fusion middleware and weblogic suite).
• Oracle Database 19c and 26ai; Container Database (CDB) and Pluggable Database (PDB).
• Experience upgrading Oracle DB from 19c to 26ai.
• Linux/Unix, shell scripting proficiency.
• PDB cloning and RMAN backup/recovery procedures.

Responsibilities

• Design and manage Oracle OCI environments including DB, middleware, and infra components.
• Develop and maintain Oracle APEX applications and ORDS services.
• Configure and administer Oracle WebLogic Server and related technologies.
• Plan and execute database upgrades, migrations, and conversions.
• Implement backup, recovery, and replication using RMAN and tools; ensure high availability and DR.

Oracle OCI Cloud Engineer

Contract role

It will be hybrid with 3 days at work and 2 days remote, candidate should be available evenings and weekends on-demand. We will have one or two rounds of technical interview followed by work sample(machine test) at VDH HQ for about 2 hours.

They should be able to provide after hours and weekend support to apply patches and other maintenance activities.

Required Skills:

• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python and JavaScript
• In-depth knowledge of database security best practices
• Expertise in performance tuning and optimization

• Ability to provide 24/7 support and troubleshoot critical issues

Desirable Skills:

• Certification in Oracle technologies such as OCIP, OCP, or OCE
